World Of Jah

I am so interested to hear the stories of I idren on this site - of how dey came to embrace the trod of Rastafari - particularly dem Idren who are from non-Rasta family. Iman own trod began with JAH prophet, Bob, many years ago, when iman was jus a teen. Although at the time i na know it. It grew from reading Bob biographies an then I further readins on Rastafari. Iman had many years been searchin for a faith I knew was within I - but could not connect wit Christianity or judaism in the religion sense. Iman came to dislike religion as an hypocrisy - cos it is the works of man, not JAH. In Rastafari Iman knew there was somethin I was I-nnected with - though I didn't know at the time that I would be accepted as I was a white on the outside. But I gradually learned that skin color does not even matter, and came to embrace the Rasta that was always witin I. Please tell I ini own I-story.
Blessings in JAH Almighty

Jah Bless. InI have had the same problem, it took much time to realise the light within I. I was raised Catholic and never fit wit the faith, I did not know how to believe in that way. I was lost, for the longest time I did not know InI. I searched high and low and eventually stumbled on to Rastafari. Initially I shared your fears, it took me years to see that the entire message of Rasta is that it does not matter what my earth istory is now, it is the istory of my soul that brings me here. I found InI through Rasta, I found Jah light.

blessins,
give thanks for this forum so i fe tell i story.
i come from no religion. i parents were baptist/christian/whatever they felt like doing that sunday. as a youth de i come to know a family from st lucia. they had big impact on i life but the influence was short lived do to i family being dirt poor & pretty much pedal to post back then. fast forward to now, ini been here 27 years, never no religion. always know there is somethin more, always feel a god, but never agree with de fashion show church or de preachers on tv selling prayer clothes etc. tried catholic church when ini was a teen, but all the statues & the vibe of those places kinda creep i out. remind i of horror movies or something. ini come to rastafarI through music. all i life i prayed to god & listened to reggae music. that all. no bible. no church. just artist such as bob marley & steel pulse & sizzla fe keep i closer to this jah that they sang about. as i get older i hunger for truth & knowledge. seek truth, find rastafari. as someone who in 27 years never read a bible or have any knowledge of H.I.M. or adam & eve (only times i ever heard those names where as a youth with my st lucian bredren & sistren) ini have fe say it gets very frustrating because some laugh or don't believe or see me as the devil when i tell i no know a story bout king david & such. made i wanna cry before cuz i thirsty fe learn but thought i couldn't teach i self. thanks to the internet & places like this one i fe get all de knowledge i need fe quench i thirst. i still learning. it's a process, especially when ini been blind ever since.
anyway. dat how i came to be rastafari.

Greetings Rasta,
ini feelings and opionions bout the church shit-stem echo i own. ini is so right - religion is nuttin but a fashion show. And the catholic church is the worst part of the Christian religion. It has a sickness to it. I also was brought to overstanding of Rastafari by I love for Bob, and Reggae music in general. Iman do not doubt that there are many Rasta who have similar story to ini - of disillusionment wit established worship practices, and hunger to discover the 'JAH' dem hear tell of in Reggae lyrics. ini should read certain chapter of Bible though. Psalms, Proverbs, Revelations, the book of Moses, the Song of Solomon - just to name a few. ini might be suprised to find how much wisdom is contain witin.
Keep strivin to learn, day by day!
