Write for Us

While Roots and Culture Magazine has its own team of staff writers, we do accept freelance submissions. We typically include one or two freelance stories in each issue.

Why Freelance?
Seeing that our magazine goes out to more than 100,000 people around the World, writing for us is a great way to gather clips and experience. We've published articles written by journalists, advisors, higher-education experts, professional freelancers, as well as some first-time writers.

Please be aware that we do not pay for the first editorial submissions by freelancers. Payment is offered only after we've established a solid, on-deadline relationship with a writer, which is typically after two or three articles have been accepted for submission. We don't print stories that have already appeared in other publications.

If you're interested in submitting an article for publication, please note the following:

- Review our current issue to get a good idea of our style and the types of stories that we publish. Keep in mind that our editorial focus is the Rastafarian Community.

- Along with your article please submit a letter giving Roots and Culture Magazine the rights to use your material.

- Please send us your full name, address and contact numbers. Your information will be kept confidential.


Offer Article Ideas
The editors of Roots and Culture Magazine are always on the lookout for fresh ideas. If you are aware of a topic we should explore or have tips that might benefit our readers, please send the information to us. Your ideas could inspire our next article and you will be credited for it.

Photos
We welcome any photos that go along with a story. If digital, they must be at least 300 dpi in order to be usable for print. Photos should be clear, in color, and show some sort of action (not just people posing for the camera, etc.) We also accept prints.

Roots and Culture Magazine consists of a group of well qualified individuals who have made indelible contributions to several successful magazines within the Caribbean. This team has been affiliated with one of the best Graphic Designing Award winning companies headed by Dario Albini who is also the Publication Director of Roots and Culture.

Although Roots and Culture Magazine will focus primarily on Rastafarian history, people, culture, entertainment and events, fashion, business and much more, it will provide something of interest to persons from varied walks of life.
