THE WAY OF REASON
The way of reason is not unique to Rastafari but is probably true that Rastafari consciously practice the philosophy of REASON more than most people. Reason is an essential part of growth and development of Rastafari. It is a part and parcel of everything we do. Taking it one step further, REASON has grown into a part of our religious practices. To sit and REASON in the mind of Rastafari, is almost as important as worshiping the creator. REASON is a gift from JAH.

There is no limit to the things we can REASON out, but it is not as easy or simple as we would think. There are also rules to be observed during the process of REASONING with another brethren or daughter; know of what you speak, say what you mean and respect the thoughts of others. There are certain things one might say to an individual but would not say to a group. One must know when to apply the power of REASON. This comes with experience.

The language we use is very carefully chosen for several reasons. As Rastafari, we observe the power of words and sound. We are keenly aware of each man’s tone of voice and choice of words as he speaks and we are extremely critical of our women. We do not usually allow women in our circle of REASONING, for we have traditionally disregarded our women’s ability to REASON things out. We see our women as being too emotional to fully engage in the art of REASONING.

This perception is wrong of course. If we truly used our power of REASON, we would clearly see that we have not given our women the chance to prove themselves. We must use this power to take our way of life to the highest possible point that we could take it. What are we striving for is righteousness, and the power of REASON can take us there. However, we must be wise in our thoughts, fair in our words, moderate in our actions and strong in our deeds. We must never speak words for which we have no REASON.

Careful and considerate examination of every and anything we come in contact with; this is the objective of this REASONING, for there can be no limits placed on the practice of REASON.

Glory to word, sound and iwa of the true and iver living I Kadamawi Haile Selassie. Awo, unfortunately some ones still hold to the pauline icept that wombmen should not black a sound in public. I give thanks that the Nyahbinghi House i am trodding up in has done well to include dawtas in the reasonings (since ive been around, cant speak for prior to that)There is always room for improvement, but i truly am grateful for the mamas that laid the foundation here, like Mama Njere, Mama Umi, Mama Shekhinah, etc. so that sistas yodding up now could feel more comfortable speaking up. being a naturally outspoken wombman, coming from a hiphop mcee life experience prior to yodding up where finding my voice was mandatory, even though i had to fight to be heard, i had some anxiety about whether or not i could still freely express myself. I observed for quite sometime before i ever spoke up(. I recall going to the Empress Menen conf. in 2004, seeing Empress Ima and Mama Desta, and many other sisters that were both eloquent and outspoken without being aggressive while reasoning. I became actively involved in House reasonings,about 3 years ago and now i feel like sometimes "hey, you may be talking too much", but the bredrin never bunn me out yet, so give thanks. :) Itege Menen set the standard, so sistrin should feel no way about joining a reasoning. As long as a one can focus and express self without excess, unnecessary outbursts, male or female, balance will be maintained. Sistrin are absolutely necessary for the forward movement of InI livity, so come in!!!

It is haile to see the I define InI Oral Tradition of Reasoning in this way.
It is a part of InI identity, that InI dont often define in the written form, because of the nature
of the Gathering.
This form of Overstanding, derived from Reasoning, is African in every facet.

Iman think the cause of the Disrespect shown to InI Queens is the result of
these Theological freaks on the Pulpits of Babylon, who have made Woman the
object of degradation, and also the originator of sin, through the Creation STORY.

InI have to take an honest account of what InI study, and realise alot of PERCEPTION
has already been force-fed to InI through indoctrination by the perverted doctrines of Roman
Catholicism, and the Patriarchal system which excludes the Wombman from Union with Man.
In some of InI culture the Wombman is the personification of virtues such as Truth, Justice, Righteousness, and Reciprocity.

What do InI say of those that use the Power of REASON for wicked intentions, or to incite Disagreement?
Some ones use the experience and Wise-mind that they gain from reason to alienate ones,
rightly or wrongly, to suit their own purposes.
Thats why I think its important that the I said:
'we must be wise in our thoughts, fair in our words, moderate in our actions, and strong in our deeds'

It is so heartening to see such progressiveness within Jah movement...to InI, the equality, raspect, trust and reasoning between and within gender is so crucial to the healing and forwarding of Jah Plan.....to know that the Shekinah,Jah Whole-I Spirit was/is personified as the feminine aspect of the Whole-I trinity, that early gnostic Christians spoke of Blessed Wisemind as Sophia, which was an integral part of the faith at that time..as well as all the Blessed female leaders who also lead their people into Jah righteousness (Queen Nyahbingi springs to mind) shows us that wombman and their bredren have had a long trodition of sharing leadership roles and allowing each other the space to be all that we can be in this earthly journey.....
The very reality that as wombman, we are often (more) tuned in or aligned with emotions and nurturing other humans gives us the gift of connectedness with The Source of All life from that Ispective..although the balance of our Kingmen and Bredrens focused guidance is crucial to develop a "bigger picture"...from I Ispective..we wombmen love to "flesh out" de plan, while our Kingmen focus on "steering Jah Ship" to Jah Promised land.....we fill in many an empathetic gap which our emotional connectedness allows us to see and feel which sometimes our Kingmens farsightedness do not see in the detail we do - due to this emotional connectedness.....
Bredren would do well to raspectively include and offer space for the Empress's to offer their Ispectives and to make sure our Empress's are not lacking in the sweet tender care that only a Kingman can offer...so that we wombmen mamas have all the "juice" needed to give our youth more love to give Jah world and in return more sweet lovin juice to bless up Jah King....

perhaps, to avoid confusion I will give I full Jahgiven name NyaInIJahJahlove..but that is a mouthful! anyone have any thought on that?
I earnestly hope I have not butted in here and am taken as intrusive..I, like many Sistren, am very sensitive about being taken as coming on "too strong" and do suffer from lack of confidence due to degrees of non-acceptance...maybe humility is a better term than "lacking confidence" and that would be the positive manifestation...I hope Ones will let I know if I input is inappropriate or unwelcome, cuz i am new here and fully appreciate an honest and frank approach..pref wid love and kindness....
